Woke up crazy early for our trip to the Blue Mountains with the Mob (a student-volunteer group that runs a lot of activities especially for exchange/international students at a discount)! I slept a bit on the bus but also met a nice girl named Clarisse from France, who sat next to me.
Our first stop was Featherdale Wildlife Park, which had a lot (I don't remember the specific number) of animals that live solely in Australia.
This place was like a tourist's dream.
So, I took a lot of pictures of animals, and don't even remember what all of them are called. I'll caption some, but I'm too lazy to really caption all of them. I took so many pictures, this is a very small fraction of them.
Wallabies!
Look at the cute koala wake up!!!!!
More koalas. Where's my massage?!
Me being excited to see koalas in real life.
Me petting a koala. THEY ARE SO SOFT!!!!
ME AND THE KING OF ALL KOALAS. Just kidding this was a thing to put coin donations into. But I tricked Jennifer and Kirsti into thinking that this was a real koala when I showed them the picture. They responded with: "Wow! I didn't see that giant one!"
They have these ice cream cones filled with grass that you can buy for $1 to feed the kangaroos/wallabies/wallaroos. These things are so scary. SO SCARY. They attack each other for the food and jump on you. And their jaws are so strong. Look at that hole in the ice cream cone from one little guy's mouth just trying to eat the whole thing out of my hand! There was also poop everywhere.
I prefer the koalas. Definitely.
Check out this old fart:
Probably the wisest kangaroo philosopher. He looked so old and dusty. "Get off my lawn!"
Some owls:
Wombat:
The wombats were so funny. They just walk back and forth and back and forth, over and over and over. Apparently they bite though. Just looks like a hairy pig.
!!!!!! SO CUTE !!!!!!
We stared at this crocodile for the longest time, and it was huge! It wasn't moving, so we thought it was just plastic. But then, Jennifer noticed that it was actually breathing, and the inside of its mouth was actually moving from breathing. Spooky scary!!
We also saw a bunch of snakes and lizards and pythons and whatnot.
Naps!
Koalas are softer, but here's a picture of me petting lesser creatures:
After an hour and fifteen minutes there, we left and headed for the Blue Mountains!
The view was ~spectacular~ ! Just endless trees in the valleys and mountains on the horizon.
This guy that loved to talk was our tour guide. I guess he should like to talk since it's his job, but seriously this guy loved to talk.
Wentworth Falls!
If I looked down, I probably would have died.
For lunch, we went to this golf club LOL and had sausages with bread and salad.
After lunch, we went to Echo Point, where we got to see the Three Sisters!
Honestly, I was more impressed by the surrounding scenery, but still very cool.
I decided to start taking more selfies to show my ~beautiful~ face.
Here is me and the sign for Echo Point.
Here is me and our bus.
Then, we went to Katoomba Falls to go see the Witches Leap.
So, it's supposed to be the brim of a witch's hat and a face underneath it, if you can see it.
Here is me and Witches Leap.
I think the tour guide told us this is the web of a funnel-web spider, which is one of the most deadly spiders in the world. Hooray! 3 cheers for Australia!
Then, after showing us this spider web and telling us about this deadly spider, the tour guide found a giant rock and told us to sit under it. Here's Kirsti unsuspecting a selfie (don't tell her I took this picture):
It was kind of cool though, he told us that the "indigenous telephone" was this thing, which basically just amplifies the sound to help it travel farther. We all yelled together.
Katoomba Falls!
Another lookout point for the Three Sisters!
Then, when we finished our hike, we went to Scenic World, which is basically a gift shop.
Do I look cute with this top (it's for little kids)?
After we got back, I got dinner with Clarisse, a few of her friends, Diane, and Christian. We went to a Malaysian/Indonesian place for dinner. We got more than just this one thing, but I just thought it was funny the way they present this fried rice. They cover it with an egg omelette just to complicate things and make it look so much less appetizing than normal fried rice.
